Just as the selfless hare in the old Buddhist tale gave everything it had out of pure love, Guna Upul Samante brings that same wholehearted spirit to every dish he creates. Raised in a Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka, surrounded by vibrant fruits, colorful spices, and the rich aromas of nature, Guna grew up with food as a way of life — and that love has never left him. Now based in Germany for over ten years, he shares the flavors of his beautiful homeland through his specialty: authentic Sinhalese cuisine, crafted with fresh seasonal vegetables, and rice and spices he personally imports from Sri Lanka — organically grown and fairly traded, on the initiative of a trusted Ayurvedic doctor. Whether cooking at the *Hasenküche*, catering events, hitting the road with his food truck, or delivering lunch to local businesses, Guna pours his soul into every plate. For him, cooking is not just a craft — it is a philosophy:
